First upland/Duck gun
« on: September 28, 2012, 11:12:37 AM »
So I am about to buy my first shotgun for bird and I trying to decide between the supernova and Mossberg 835. Could use some help. Does anyone have some opinions on the two?

The Nova will last you longer and is cake to disassemble and clean.

For the uplands however, be aware of the weight. 7-8 lbs doesn't sound like a lot but it can feel like a ton after lugging it around for hours.

Out of those two I'd take the nova.

I love my moss 835 i really like it cause i'm a lefty and the safty is up top. My cousin had a nova and had nothing but trouble with it.  :twocents:

Mossberg! Hands down for me. My 835 was a bday present from my dad when I was 12. I still have it and it is the only shotgun I own. I'm 25 now.  I have NEVER had any problems with it. It has killed many, many birds. my good buddy has a nova and hates it. To each their own though.  :twocents:

Another vote for the nova. Sold mine when I bought my sx3, and now bought it back for a backup gun.
