Two more bulls down with Rugged Class Outfitters!

We took Jim out, who has been putting in for a disable elk permit for 14 years. He drew Lt. Naches unit and signed up to hunt with us. Yesterday we got into several bulls but were unable to get a shot due to Jim's limited mobility. This morning we went to one of our "top secret" spots about 2 hours before daylight. So we get there and bugle, right away we get an answer close by, so we sat in the trucks for almost 2 hours listening to this bull going crazy less than 100 yards away. So when daylight shows up, we get Jim out of his van in his chair and wheel him down the road about 50 yards where the bull is going crazy while I'm up on a hill across the road calling. After moving Jim a few times to get him and bull lined up in the same opening, BANG and I see the bull bolt up into the trees and hear him crashing. I was thinking he either missed or wound him, but I never did see the bull come out of the timber. So I grabbed my rifle and head down into the spot where the bull was when Jim shot. We ranged it and the shot was 118 yards. So Jim tells me when I'm standing where the bull was and I start looking for blood.....nothing. Jim then says the bull went up into the trees right behing me, so I turn around to look for blood and what do you know?
? There lies a dandy of bull. Great shot Jim!!!!

So part two is: My partner took out a muzzleloader client who harvest a nice 6 pt with us three years ago and nailed a real nice bull this morning too. 93 yard shot on a bull that came running in. Great job Marshal!!!

It was a great hunt. We've taken several disabled hunters over the years, and tagged every one of them out, but this was the best one by far. Jim has a great attitude and had a lot of fun. The best part was that he did the shooting himself. Very cool hunt.

that's not where we killed him, but he may have been in that area during the summer.

Best story of the year in my book!!!
Love to hear a story like that! My dad has never shot a bull elk and has been putting in for that same disabled tag for years (he has 13 points). I can't wait to see him shoot his first bull someday, I sure hope he gets the chance to. I am truly happy for that hunter and it's pretty damn cool of you guys to do what you can to make sure the disabled guys get the best chance possible. Truly heart warming, thanks for posting. Congrats to both hunters and guides.
