For all you Bugle readers Ron Mills showed us the spot where he lost the horses in to the creek revene. Nasty
edge. New trail much safer.
I'm not much of a story teller. Week was very hot. Steep country wore me out in the heat.
Scenery can't be beat. On the fifth day after riding up in the dark we came to the edge of an avalanch chute. Heard a fairly close bugle above us. Decided to cross the chute to the timber edge on the far side. Left the horses and beat feet up hill a couple a hundred yards. Just as I got set up I could see him starting accross the chute. After a single cow. Seeing his size and shaking badly I missed the first shot. He did not run off. Kept walking then stopped. Settled down and got him wth the second shot. Kept vigil for Grizz while gutting out. Lotta work on a steep slope. Thank God for pack string.
Hunted with Mills Wilderness Adventures out of Agusta and had a good time. Great people. Great stories from Ron and Ray. Hunted their White River hunt.
Puyallup Sportsmans Warehouse has a Heads & Horns competition going. Will take it up there sometime before the end of the year for display and scoring.  Puyallup Sportsmans Show first of the year also.

The White River is a pretty darned neat place.

Bugle magazine will have another Ron Mills story in the Bob. Nov / Dec issue.
Also a pic possibly if they can find room.

Going to take antlers to Puyallup Sportsmans Show wednesday after work. See how close our rough score comes.

Hey Paul, just got home from the Puyallup sportsmans show.  Got to see your antlers and I talked with the fine folks from Mills.  Heard a bit of your story and I' ve got to say I think someone was smiling down on ya that day in the Bob.  Congrats on an amazing trophy of a lifetime!

Congrats! Thanks for taking those antlers to the show!  Very beautiful bull!  I know a guy that got guided to the Bob this past year and he was dreaming of your trip, but aren't we all.  Awesome!
