GMU 154
« on: October 04, 2012, 02:08:33 PM »
I am heady to GMU 154 this year with my daughter to try and get her a shot at her first deer. Anybody familiar with a good place to shoot a doe in this area?

Thank you.

S fork of the Coppei Cr. Lewis Peak rd and several of the smaller side roads have feel free land.
162 is also a whitetail doe area for youth, lots of feel free there to.

knocking on doors with your kid would usually get you access.  but it's getting pretty late for that.  but a doe won't be hard to find.  have fun!

Is the Biscuit Ridge area worth hunting?

personally i'd stay lower in the wheatfields.  scenic loop is always good for a couple does.  or hunt down off mormon grade.

Haha this makes thread makes me chuckle. All you have to do is drive down any road at anytime to shoot a doe. Most all roads have feel free to hunt somewhere on them don't get to high in the mountains stay in the higher wheat fields and it ll be a piece of cake. Spring creek, mill creek, scenic loop, coppei all good all have feel free to hunt it ll be a good experience for your kid and you ll see lots of does.
