NE Washington Elk Hunting
« on: October 07, 2012, 09:11:41 PM »
Hunted 113 this weekend for elk muzzle. Hardly any deer sign and no bear sign either.  Have hunted up there for years, but have never seen it this bad.

There is not elk in the NE corner.  Alot of talk because it is not a spike only area but for good reason.....no elk.  Deer yes but weather is warm and moon has been out, give it a few more weeks.

Plenty and if you have hunted areas that are full of elk then hunting here my humble you, but I grew up hunting here and this is what I know and I have seen the elk pop explode up here in the last 10 years

There really won't be if certain people continue to talk about the "explosion" of elk in the NE.  Oh well better the coasties get to them before the wolves do.

The elk will just get smart and get on property that is not huntable.  (Private)

it isn't really a secret that there are some elk there and their numbers are increasing... you still have to put the work in to get to them and find them.  I am sure people aren't going to come flocking to your spot since huntnnw said the population exploded...

I agree.  But I don't give out my high country fishing lakes or holes on the Grande Rhonde either.  Yes, no secret but helps keeps the pressure down.

lotsa landowners won't let people they know hunt their property & as mentioned that's where the elk head. Not anti-hunting just tired of too many & 1 out of 10 does something stupid & landowners lock it down. 1 of my friends says he won't let bowhunters on his land cause of the damage to his farm equipment due to lost arrows finding their way into it.
Romans 14:2 he who eats only vegetables is weak
Genesis 27:3 Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me
