Banded Woody
« on: October 14, 2012, 07:18:56 AM »
Well my season is theoretically all down hill from here. I have no idea how to top the opening day hunt. The day was not full of large bag limits but a very beautiful bird with a shiney accessory. Yup that would be a banded wood duck my friends. I almost died when i saw it. Good thing is that a few days before the opener my friend picked up his woody from wctaxidermy. I was so impressed with the work of John and Alyssa I brought that bird right over to their shop. There is no better advertisement than good quality work. Cant wait to get the mount!

Congrats, my goal this year is to get a couple birds good enough to send up to john.

Totally amazing dude. This is why sit in the muck and cold!

If you submit the banding info on line, you can print off all the information.  They will also send you all the info on it via e-mail, so you can print the certificate.

Got the band info back. He was banded in Naples, Idaho in 2011. Hached in 2010 or earlier.  Kind of cool.

I shot one a couple years ago in tri cities. It came from cabin creek Idaho. I guess wood ducks fly west!
