Need everyones input
« on: October 15, 2012, 06:51:38 PM »
So i just went to bobs in longview and shot the hoyt vector 32 and the mathews helium. Both sweet bows but thats the problem i cant decide witch one i want. The mathews was alittle smoother and lighter but after bragging up hoyt for my archery career im not sure i can switch to a different company. The hoyt was not as smooth but i think it looks cooler and the grip is alot nicer i feel like it holds better on target and maybe alittle faster. I need some experienced archers advice...what would you go with

Are you dead set on those two bows? Have you tried a Bowtech? My favorite for sure.  :twocents:

I shot both those bows this year before I bought the Helium.  I have shot Mathews forever and I agree 90% with your discription of both, only exception being the hoyt is ugly and I didn't care for the grip (probably because I have shot with mathews forever).  I also did / do not have a problem holding the Helium on target and I think they both IBO about the same.  Ok....I don't thing 90% was accurate maybe 50% cause I do agree the Mathews is lighter and smoother  :chuckle:.   I did not like the vibration of the hoyt following the shot either.  I am extremely happy with my helium and am still a dihard mathews fan.  Good Luck.

By your user name I would have guessed what you would have picked! :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

The 2 are about equal in my mind. Both decent bows.

Have you tried the z7extreme?  I think it is better than helim.  I liked the hoyts but felt z7x was smoother and quieter.  Sorry but not a Bowtech fan anymore.  Customer service poor.

Blow techs really?  :puke: :pee: :bdid: . Stick with the Hoyt. Matthews are ok but nothing beats Hoyt's durability and customer service.

"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

Take a trip to Archery world in Vancover wa, they are one of the best shops around and have all the bows there and the staff can give you a hand picking out the right one.

I bought the heli m, I'm really happy with the bow love the way it shoots but i did put a focus grip on it. i like the wood one but i felt it had alot of torque in the grip. Way better with new grip. (for me) Also try the z7 magnum. that is a great bow and was my 2nd choice shoots like the helim but maybe a little more stable. give it a shot.

I shot both and went from a Hoyt to the Mathews for the simple fact you described of the smoothness feeling.  The Mathews had less vibration and seemed quieter.  Both are great bows & you will be happier with either.  Having had a Hoyt  the Mathews felt like I was getting a better upgrade for my money. The new Hoyt felt a lot like my old one.  Mike

If I was in the market for a new bow, I'd shoot as many as I could and choose the one I liked best.  Tops on my list to shoot, based on specs, would be the PSE DNA.
