SIAP, monster blacktail
« on: October 26, 2012, 07:49:21 PM »
So, sorry if this has already been posted. My buddy knows a kid who was hunting out near Matlock yesterday and ran across an old timer who shot this buck. Apparently, he parked at an old road and walked up it about 100 yards and this buck walked out in front of him and he shot it.That is all I know about it other than the fact the thing is huge. Picture was not huge so I tried to expand it without making it blurry.

Wait for it:)

WOW. I heard it was killed in Matlock too, However I assumed it most likely came from Oregon. We all know how big buck cellphone forwards are :chuckle:

Well, a deer like that is big wherever it came from. I can tell you, without a doubt, that my buddy knows this guy well who gave him the picture off of his phone. I know, he said/she said... The kid said it came from Matlock, he claims he was there and took the picture himself.

Things do get mixed upped and covered up, but I have no reason to doubt my buddy. Like I stated though, even if it is not from Matlock, I still drool everytime I look at that thing, lol.

No it was in Lewis county. I was awful proud of him. He sure deserved it. And after looking closer, it is the same buck. Look at the zip ties holding the tag..

Would it be a bad idea if the dogs were already trained not to chase deer?

Not really, I did not doubt his part of the story that was passed on to him as he understood it. I have no affiliation with the source.

Like I said, things get skewered. "He said, she said". I understand all of that.

I also understand that how I wrote that it would make it seem that I was making my buddies word the gospel. I did not intend to do that, just his story as he conveyed it on to me.

And, like I said, makes no difference, monster buck and one to be proud of, no doubt. I still droool when I see the pictures, lol.

Sorry for the confusion and poor (lack of) facts:(

Love the pic of it on the box, hell the only reason I leave mine in the truck is so the only place to put my deer is on top of it where everyone can see it  :chuckle:
