Sweet!  I'll be hitting it hard all next week.  By the end of the week the night time temps are supposed to be in the low single digits  and teens during the day.  Just my kind of hunting weather

I fed and pulled camera cards yesterday. I have been hunting a buck I call "spot". I have never captured a day time pic of him and never seen him in daylight. I pulled a card yesterday that had a pic of a doe at 5:55 am. Not a single other pic until 3:58 that same day (11 hours later) and it was spot. I hope he is starting to slip up a little. I had lots of pics with multiple bucks feeding together. I'm sure there are still some does left to breed and somone is wittnessing some rut activity somewhere but it's not happening where I am.

Just waiting for my partner to e-mail them to me. We didn't get home until 2:30 this morning and I'm cutting him some slack. It was a nasty pack out.

I for one am looking forward to it.

I think the rut is pretty much done for the most part. I was sitting in the stand Friday and had a small 4x4 come in and feed for about 30 minutes then he took off and started dogging a doe.

Sorry it took me so long to get a picture posted. I almost became "that" guy.

It's not what some of you may have been thinking. This buck is no record book buck but for whatever reason I became obsessed with him from the first time I saw him on my camera back in October. I had some other bucks on camera that were definitely bigger but I always had him in my head whenever I envisioned taking a shot.

I ended up hanging 3 different sets to finally see him in the daylight at a brand new stand Friday morning. I didn't get him that morning but he came back around 4:15 and finally made a mistake.

This deer has a bunch of weird stuff going on. First off he is tiny. I'm not saying he's young, although he is not old either, he is just scaled down. His feet are tiny, his head is tiny, and I would be shocked if this deer weighed 130 pounds on the hoof. I think he is a Pygmie. Haha He has none of those lanky awkward appearances of a 2 1/2 year old he is just a dwarf. He also had black spots on him and super long hair. Just weird all around. I was bummed to see he broke off his g-3 and g-4 on the weak side. I knew the 4 was broken because he did that a couple weeks ago but he had the g-3 when I shot him.
