Speaking of the Palouse Tag and the Rut.
« on: November 01, 2012, 01:16:06 PM »
I have a late Palouse tag and will be hunting the Davenport area.   Season runs the 10th-19th.  In the past I have had more whitetail rut success closer towards the 19th vs. the 10th.  This was primarily in the Clearwater country of Idaho and some in Colville.  I am planning on taking 4-5 days and doing it all at once or break it into 2 seperate hunts at the beginning and the end.  Any locals have thoughts as to when the peak 3-4 days might be?  thanks, B.T.

The whitetail rut peaks right at the end of the season!  ;)

Good luck, that's a fun hunt.

I havent seen any whitetail pre-rut action yet.  The whitetail rut will peak well after the 19th but you should have some serious pre-rut action starting around the 8th.

:yeah:  from what I've seen being over there the past few years the end of that hunt should be the peak of the rut. I'll be over there helping a family friend and can't wait.

In your case, the later the better.  The 19th is typically the beginning of the peak.
