Any older Sno. Co. Steelheader knows where C-Post is. Caught my fare share there, and probably someone elses

Make sure you know what land is what behind carnation. Some of it is hancock. You can hunt it, but you must have a permit. Even to walk in hunt

Yup used to fish at night at Fortson a lot when it was legal in the 70s. About 1' leader and a glow bobber and sand shrimp.

Don't forget to check out high up on the middle fork  that's where I would hunt if I wanted to tag an elk in 460. Did I mention to go high?

Harvest numbers aren't as high as some other areas, but it shows that there are elk in the units.

Are they more up high in the snow or down lower in the river bottoms and such this time of year on the west side of the cascades?

Are those I-90 elk just wintering in the North Bend area or do they head back over to the east side?  Where do they winter?

They winter right where they are. They dont go back over the hill, if anything they go down to the river more. They have no reason to leave, protected land, lots of food, etc.

Stang.....are you the hunter for this outing? If so will you be packing the .308? That would make a killer hiking/thick stuff elk rifle.

Maybe.... and maybe....

Think the 30 round clip will be sufficient?
 :chuckle:

The 10 rounder is a little more ergonomical... its my go-to for hunting needs.
