Inland paper
« on: November 10, 2012, 10:07:05 AM »
So I just moved to Spokane a month ago and a buddy told me I should get an inland paper permit and go out for the late hunt up there. I'm busy today but am pretty sure I'm going to give it a try. Was wondering if anyone had any knowledge about what its like up there as far as people presence and if it would be worth the $40 for 3 or 4 days of hunting.

Also my Girlfriend is nervous about me going alone since I don't know the area so if anyone who needs a partner just shoot me a PM.

Thanks
I hunt for peace of mind.

You might want to check the regulations, it looks like the inland paper company land is in unit 127 and it is only open to people that drew the Palouse buck tags. I am not sure that this is the case but I would do research before I paid to hunt on inland paper land.

Yeah 127 isn't open for late season general whitetail.

Thanks guys, I'm pretty sure the land right around mt Spokane is in 124 which according to the regs says any buck (whitetail). I'm going to give it a shot. Bought the tag this afternoon, hopefully I can fill my tag after the buck I took in the regular season had been shot weeks prior and the wound was rotted out. (game department gave me new tag)

I know that there is public land up north as well I just don't have a clue of where to start if I go up there. Also it's a bit to far to get there after work during the week.

I hunt for peace of mind.

I was in the same exact boat last year. I did what you are planning and it was the first time in 16 years I did not notch my deer tag. I am not saying it is impossible, but you might as well right off this season. Try to secure some private land if you can. If you can't, plan on doing some preseason scouting. Last year I didn't see 1 buck. I have seen 15 to 20 already this year.
I hunt therefore I am.

Thanks everyone. Saw a lot of deer sign up there but I wasn't prepared to be up in the snow so I came back early. Did see 2 moose and a bob cat though.

I hunt for peace of mind.
