First geese of the season
« on: November 12, 2012, 07:44:25 AM »
Went out with my father in law last Wednesday.  We were fairly successful.  Had a quick nice hunt.

You did better than me. I only got half a bag on Saturday and did chores yesterday.

How do you guys prepare them, cooking-wise?  Roast, stew, jerky...?

Nice work on your hunts, I hope to get after some this season as well!

I marinated in teriyaki, sesame oil, and premium soy with lots of ginger. Roasted hot 450 for 30 minutes wrapped in bacon. Served on saffron rice with mushrooms and a 50 year old balsamic drizzled over the top. MMM MMM good.

That sounds awesome.....  I would have trouble deciding whether to eat it or roll around in it nekkid!

I rolled around in it before I cooked it. This disturbed our dinner guests quite a bit.

I typically do jerkey and pepperoni sticks.  I did make a salamin and summage sausage out of some last year.  It turned out decent.  It just looks a bit different and slightly different texture.
