A. Cole Lockback in AEB-L and Micarta
« on: Yesterday at 07:33:01 PM »
First knife finished for the summer! Lockback in AEB-L, vintage micarta (note how the coloration changes from side to side, due to oxidation of the material), Ti liners which I anodized for the first time to a blue/purple colour, ss hardware. I've been carrying the prototype for this pattern essentially every day for 1.5 yrs, have been able to make some small improvements, and am very happy with it. It is available for $425 w/ free shipping. I designed it in SolidWorks, waterjetted the blade, spring, lockbar and liners, surface ground and milled the blade, and lathed down the barrel pivots at my school shop and did everything else here at my home shop.

Great looking knife. I know from experience that you make fabulous knives. What is the purpose of the oblong opening in the blade?

Thanks pianoman, it's a pinch slot because I'm not a fan of nail nicks for bigger knives.

Beautiful!
Thanks!
