Pics and Weights
« on: November 11, 2012, 08:07:34 PM »
Many of us have had the opportunity to not only kill an elk but weigh them.  Please post a pic of your elk and what it weighed out.  I have killed an elk but dont have a scale to see what he weighed.  I hear many saying their rosie weighed 800lbs etc.  lets see those pigs

850 lb cows too.   :chuckle:

Sorry, I have no elk pics.  Give me a few more weeks.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

We got two cows during muzzy season. Both quartered and trimmed for packout. 1 was 189, the other was 272.

Biggest cow i ever shot was 330 hanging and it looked like a horse laying on the ground.  Then the next year i shot a cow out of the Nile that was 271 hanging.   My dads cow from the Nile last year was an even 300 hanging.

My sons bull last year was 416 hanging at the butcher shop. The bull he shot this year was even bigger, but I cut and wrapped him myself so no idea on the weight. I do know that I have over 60 lbs of burger meat and I filled the freezer in the house and the rest of the one in the garage.

For pics go to Cody's second elk in the youth forum.

585 lbs hanging.
This is after skinning, removing the hooves, and trimming fat off of him. I imagine his locker weight would have been over 600 lbs had we not trimmed the fat off of this pig! Its the biggest bull the butcher shop had ever taken in.

The meat photo doesn't do it justice because it is hanging in the background.

hanging after skinning, gutting, no legs, fat trimmed, headless, my 6x6 417#, my 5x5 420#, my 5x6 415# all from GMU113, my wifes ID 4x4 455#, before internet police flame me or try to turn me in for 10 points, ID doesn't require orange & we took different routes to the downed bull & I took this pic as she 1st walked up on it, so that's why it's not tagged yet.
