Help with locating Whatcom County Thief
« Reply #45 on: October 20, 2012, 07:48:05 PM »
Update got the trail camera back , Thanks to all the Whatcom County Guys that helped with tracking it down!!!!! I'm hoping the guy that stole it thinks twice now about taking something that doesn't belong to him.

Sweet news! Glad to hear things ended well.

Turned out the young man that was accused didn't like the thought of being blamed for it. But he had a pretty good idea who did, So to clear his name, he made the guy that took it bring it to me.

Glad things turned out. Now list who the thief is so they can feel bad and learn a lesson.

Look, I don't want anyone to take what I said wrong. I don't condone what happened. I just think that people shouldn't get all pissed off if someone leaves a camera on public land and it isn't there when they go to retrieve it. If someone does take it, how can it be proven they stole it? They could say it was abandoned. There is no way there could be theft charges brought against them.
As far as the ethics of not hunting someone else's blind, first come first serve on public land. Yes it sucks but that is how it is.

He wasn't on public land. But I still don't understand your logic? I leave my truck parked on public land all the time when I am hunting. Should I not be pissed if somebody steals it? People have all the right in the world to be pissed off whenever somebody takes something that does not belong to them no matter where it is taken from.

 :yeah:

I don't understand the logic either.  A guy should be totally pissed if he goes to check his cam and it is gone.  I lag bolt mine to a tree in a bear box, and haven't had the misfortune of having it stolen yet, but I sure as hell am going to be pissed if it gets stolen.

What if a guy rides a mountain bike in somewhere, parks it and hunts for a while, comes back and the bike is gone?  Should he just say "Oh, well.........it is public land.  Too bad". ???  Thieves suck.  It doesn't matter if it is easy for them to steal an item, they shouldn't be stealing.  They ought to get their fingers lopped off if caught stealing. :twocents:
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Thieves are worthless!.......
I have never had a camera stolen ,But last year the landowner showed up
Twice with his dog and wife.Funny thingishe swore that no one ,Not even him
Has been out in the wooded part of the land.Lots of scrapes on his pine trees around the pond but no shooters.

I hope I find a trail cam, I would take like nasty shots with it, crotch butt etc, then put it back on the tree lol

We did that with a cell phone I found, I called the owner and told him I found his phone, but put pics of me in a speedo on it :chuckle:

Sounds like you get off on men looking at you naked. That's pretty 'special.' I hope you don't find one of my cams.

I've always wanted to set up some decoy cameras loaded with bear spray - man that'd make a miserable walk out of the woods huh?
