Talk to me a little about your rattling success.
My buddy hiked into a spot yesterday, on a whim... no human prints at all... in the snow, so easy to tell.
He sat down and spotted a whitey buck about 500 yards off... so he pulled his horns out and started rattling... the buck gave a massive grunt that he heard from that far off then came at a dead run and didn't stop till he was 200 yards away. He catches movement off to the side and sees another buck coming in... then another from another way.... THEN... one more! All little four points. The first buck turned broadside and he dumped him....
This area has potential to have a big mature buck. Do you think if I went up there and pulled the same gig, 2 days later, I could rattle in a bigger deer if I was to let all those little ones walk? Or are smaller bucks more susceptible to rattling in???
I will likely be up there at O'Dark-thirty tomorrow morning...regardless!
