Mountainman, very nice rifle.  I am curious as to the barrel wrap?  Specific function or just cool aesthetics?

Two-fold. Weight reduction is a definate plus. More importantly, heat transfer. With the graphite the barrel will cool much quicker and not retain the heat which can cause groups to wander a bit. And it adds stiffness, rigidity to the barrel without the added weight of a heavier contour. :)

Thanks for the info.

Check around and talk with different builders.  Make sure you tell them exactly what you want.  Look at the finished details and track records.  The important thing is for the rifle to turn out how you want it.

It's pretty cookie cutter. A trued up 700, ground lug, tac knob, sitting in a random stock I had....I think its an hs, but i can't recall. Bdl bottom metal trigger at 2#, graphite cerakote on all metal, a green mountain 6.5X8 profiled by me (never again). A zeiss diavari 6-24x56 in seekins rings.

I am running 46.5gr with lapua 139's with ease. My original reamer design broke before I had a chance to cut a chamber, so my replacement has less free bore.....but will feed in a sa without a wyatts.

Claude at the shooters shop built my rifle and broke it in . took 90 + rounds to breakin and get grouping . I'm shooting 140 vlds with 52.5 of rl19 . 1 in 8 twist #4 hart with a break . 6.5 s are really addicting my only remorse is the wieght of my build shoulda maybe kept it under 10 lbs .

That comment is laughable.  Please enlighten me on how I could have had my rem 700 built for a lot less money?
