Manastash & Umtanum - any suggestions?
« on: September 04, 2008, 07:12:20 AM »
I just heard about this site recently, and want to thank everyone with their years of experience and knowledge who are willing to share it with others. I'm a bowhunter and moved to Spokane from Minnesota a few years ago. I'm still learning the tricks of the West out here after years of sitting in treestands along field edges sticking whitetails.

I've never shot an elk with my bow, and this fall I have a chance at a branched bull with the Observatory any elk tag I drew. I was hoping to do at least one scouting trip this summer, but I got married and had a contractor abandon me on a house I was building, so unfortunately that didn't happen.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start in those two units? I will be able to get 4-5 days off work, flexible dates, and I'm more than willing to do some hiking to get into some good spots.

hi, i am new to this site even though I am a belfair boy west side but lived in E Wa and know these units well. I hunt and hike for sheds every year in E wa. I drew Observatory and killed the #1 muzzleloader bull in 2002 and believe it was #4 now based on NW biggame records.  give me a call at trophy antler outfitters shed buyer at 360-801-6438. I know the area well and will be there OCT with a buddy who drew a muzz tag.
