my brother and i went hunting last weekend and we shot some duck we have never seen before. we got home looked them up and they were scoters. two different kinds we got 2 surf scoters and 1 white winded scoter.

Just looked and it shows Sea Duck Authorization only needed for Western WA, you're good to go.   :tup:

yeah in eastern washington there is no rules to shooting them. we got them out near Cheney.

yep we have gotten a few there too...I live in Cheney... scoters and a couple of long tailed ducks as well...seems like they are a little lost... but hey its a new one added to the list for me this year! and I am not complaining

You should call the local WDFW office and report what you shot.
I'm sure some local reseachers would be elated to have those records added to their studies.
