Nile Bull open????
« on: November 28, 2012, 05:27:06 PM »
So I was hunting in the Nile last weekend and noticed a couple bulls in the back of a truck parked at the woodshed bar.  I didn't look in the back of the truck but there was definately 4 horns sticking out the back.  My father in law also said that he saw a 5 point bull in the back of the truck on the 1600 rd.  Is there a season open that time for big bull?  I looked but didn't see any season open for special hunt.  Maybe I missed something, but not sure.  What are your thoughts?

FYI, the bulls that were in the back of the truck were 5-6 points and probably wouldn't score 280 a piece.  If there was a raffle tag of some sort, I would have passed on those bulls for sure.  :twocents:

There's nothing wrong with saying it was most likely indians, because that's the truth.

It's a known hunting area for the Yakamas, and this is the time of year they hunt the most.

We do not have evidence yet that is was them.

Who needs evidence? We're not trying to convict anybody here. It's perfectly legal for the Yakamas to kill elk in that area at this time.

I didn't see anything wrong with stating the obvious either.  Heard a nice 5pt bull was taken out of there last week but not sure who?  I believe as some of you know in road closures especially during the wintering areas for animals.  You want it, go get it!  I don't have problems walking in and packing out.  If I see it ill go get it and I'm not prejudice, headgear or not ill eat it just the same.  I have issues with road "killers" and I say killers because that's not hunting! My Opinion of course.  Just this past weekend I helped a buddy pack out a cow more than a couple miles before during and after dark.  I didn't hesitate or think all this for a cow???  I thought food!  There are those of us that despise what's done because it doesn't reflect the majority but, every one has a group they don't like that doesn't reflect them in general.  If I can get within 20 yards of a herd of elk after tracking and stalking and shoot one then others can if they want it bad enough.

That about sums up what we saw as well. It was tough hunting for sure..
