So there are not any brush pickers in there at all... the only other person that hunts in there hunts bow in early season and that it. We are the only people who go down there at all. (we know this because our tracks are the only ones present) we don’t know what’s going on other that they come on from 0000-0330 and there are 1-3x3, 2-2x3, 2-2x2, and a handful of spikes, and some does.... we tracked where they are coming from but we have no data on what time they are going down that trail. If anyone has anything that could help us get these black tail out then we would be very great full.
Pics coming soon…
All you need is a clear shot, an ice cold BUD, and a can of dip.

That's blacktails for ya. They only come out at night (except when the rut is on).

Maybe get about 6 or 8 guys and do a drive through their bedding area?   :dunno:

yep. they friggin walked all over a amazin spot i have been in and out of in years past. i pulled up to the gate the other day an this mexican guy is just staring at me like he was wondering what i wanted in the middle of hunting season being i had my camo on. i would think they would be smart enough to find a closed GMU to pick instead but no. i aint about to put out a camera so they can steal it either.

Told you...  :chuckle:  Sorry about your luck but it was bound to happen sooner then later... Pickers will rotate areas @ every 2-4 weeks depending on time of year and amount/quality of foliage.... And you better hope they don't find a nice cluster of cedar... They will be there until there are no limbs left on the WHOLE tree this time of year.... Quality cedar is $.45-.65 a pound now...

AHHHH!!!  :bash: DAMN YOU PICKERS!!!! i was chasing some BT last year and thought that i had him. The next day I was planning on catching'em right at sunset only to have my plans shattered with a herd of pickers mosey through the hole. Not to say I've never busted another guys hunt by accident but it seems They ruin everything more times than not!

Sounds like Blacktail 101. Late hunt is a hard hunt no matter where you go. These animals are tough so don't be discouraged if you don't bag on on your first couple years. Get out there and you'll educate yourself on where the good spots are and you'll see when they change areas. Toughest part is getting in front of them during shooting hours, that's why early season is awesome. 2 years ago I stopped hunting on public land and started knocking on doors where I saw deer. 80% of the time I got permission to hunt. It may not have secured a deer for that year but I was more prepared for the following year. Now I have a half dozen properties that allow me to hunt without pickers messing things up. I go in, harvest, get out and give the owner a care package of his choice of cut or sausage in the holiday's. Kitsap is full of deer but hard to get access that hasn't had the deer pushed out. At this time of year find their night bedding area and be there before they are. Sometimes you'll get lucky when they move from one to the other. Good luck and happy hunting
