north bend elk

has anybody seen the herd in the fields along 202 between north bend and snoqualmie?
there's a big bull in the field the last few days. i saw them yesterday and stopped and took some pics, thinking all afternoon i'd have some good pic's of a big western wa bull to share. got home last night and checked out the pics...too blurry to see anything but his frame, so i didn't post them. he's big, with huge 4's, especially on his right side. there was a good 20-30 elk in that field at 11:00 yesterday morning.

I've heard about them but I have not seen them. Pacyew and I drove by a while back but they were not around. I'd love to see the photos. As far as I understand they are grazing in private land which is not open to hunting (just in case someone get's an idea that they want to run out there and shoot one).

post the pics, even if they are a little blurry. There are some big bulls around that aren't hunted thats for sure.

i'll see what i can do. they are on the 'pooter at home.
huntwa...if you know that road, if you're heading into north bend, it's the big field on the left right past where the speed limit turns from 40 to 50 a little ways past the school. there's a portapotty on the side of the road in the field.

North bend and snoqualmie have a no hunting ordinance on the valley floor. I have seen a bull that was 300+ in there last year. I like to play with em for practice with bugles and cow calls. I figure since no one can hunt em I not messing up anyone's spot. I have counted 65+ at a time in a couple places around the valley. they are going to run an AHE hunt on em in the next year or so.

we went back through there around 6 sunday night and i was driving and looking and i could see the ass of one elk all the way back in the far corner and that was it.
my mother drives that road almost daily and sees them regularly.
she saw a bear the other night up on snoqualmie ridge crossing the parkway.

They were out this morning at dawn. And even later on around 11 am. Couple of nice bulls looking at us. Too dark to get photos though..
