The primary way to hunt them is during the day. Calling is the best option.
"One does not hunt in order to kill; on the contrary, one kills in order to have hunted..If one were to present the sportsman with the death of the animal as a gift he would refuse it. What he is after is having to win it, to conquer the surly brute through his own effort and skill with all the extras that this carries with it: the immersion in the countryside, the healthfulness of the exercise, the distraction from his job." Sent by a PM, I day hunt all over Kitsap... Had pretty good success too. Just depends on where you go and how hungry they are... Some pretty abstract calls will bring them in around here because of their proximity to people.

Probably sent while sitting on the ferry... While using Tapatalk 2

If you are bowhunting only then calls probable electronic placed near by bow range a must.  a decoy would be helpful.  hard to get them into bow range they are pretty wiley.  i have called a few with challenge howls in real close.  they came in like a rocket and did not seem too skiddish.  most sneak in.  good luck i bow hunt and would like to try taking one with a bow someday.

 I got four last year with a  bow, I was in a climber hunting over apples and they kept coming in to take them, funny thing is they were doubles, you would pop one and his buddy would look at him like what's his problem? So from this a stand is almost a must, as is something for them to come too. I would think a e-caller and decoy could work as well. Almost got another this year while in my ground blind early archery but the damn fence saved him  :bash: he atleast got a good shave from it though.

Lots of guys including myself call them into shotgun range regularly. Bow should work just fine as long as you can conceal your movement when you draw. I would suggest an electronic call and decoy to keep the focus off you.
