Save DNR land volunteer
« on: December 13, 2012, 06:59:49 AM »
From age 19 to about 22 i had a spot up in eatonville of scott turner road opposite end of busy wild on DNR land, that my friends and I would shoot at every week, and every month about 4000 rounds would be fired. we would pick up all our targets and trash and used a rolling magnet to pick up brass and shot shell casings. I went up there with bearbaito6 to re sight in his ML and i was sick to my stomach, trashed! This is one excuse to why our public land is being shut down or banned to shooting. Through my jeep club I've worked with Nancy on the orv park, she is in charge of the busy wild area. I was thinking of contacting her to maybe get Discover passes or a day pass for those don't have one so i may entice some of you who use or have used the area to come out and help clean it up. Before i contact her i want to see how much interest there may be in volunteering.

We constantly pick up areas where we sight in..... have been doing this forever. Posted a thread about it a few years back. Plus, others on the site have got together to clean up other areas.

Maybe we should pick a spring date and have multiple clean-ups around the state. Go for some good press and clean up the woods in a fashion where all of our sports can possibly benefit from the good press?
