Life jackets fellas!
« on: December 23, 2012, 10:41:46 AM »
Please wear your life jackets. No need for a death or 3 on what is supposed to be a fun day of hunting.

The deer are exactly where you find them, and no where you dont!

Not wearing life jackets while in a watercraft while wearing duck hunting clothing is nothing short of stupid.

Scary, could have been three funerals.

From the article: The Coast Guard rescued three duck hunters and their dog from the waters of Coos Bay, Oregon, today.

Two men, a boy and the dog were in an 18-foot boat that capsized early in the morning. Security guards at The Mill, a nearby casino, spotted people in the water and called for help about 7:30 a.m.

The Coast Guard dispatched a helicopter crew from Air Station North Bend and a 25-foot response boat from Station Coos Bay.

The helicopter arrived first and lowered a rescue swimmer. The swimmer helped the hunters and the dog into the response boat, which arrived a few minutes later. None of the hunters, ages 45, 26 and 13,  were wearing  life jackets.

Emergency medical personnel were waiting onshore, but none were injured.
