cam security
« on: December 24, 2012, 01:15:22 AM »
im using the masterlock python cables and lock boxes on my trail cameras, and was wondering if anybody has ever had a camera stolen while using these or if everybody who talks about losing cameras just had the little straps that cameras come with that can be cut or unbuckled.

I have 3 Primos truth cam 60 cameras set up on public land. Each camera is enclosed in a steel security box that is lag bolted to the tree and then held together with a python cable. I've had people mess with them a little and then give up. I've never had any problems as far as having somebody steal a camera but my theory is that if somebody wants it than they could cut the cable or something but they are going to REALLY have to work at it. A lock is to keep an honest man honest.

Have had 2 stolen along with the lock boxes. They shoot the cable lock and then hack saw the lag bolts. Got to love theirs.

"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

I take alot of time to make sure my cameras are secure. (much more than I should have to) :bash:  I do the things you guys do and more. My wifw is the only other person that knows how and what it takes to get my cams off a tree. Lets just say it would be easier to cut the tree down. If a guy wants to do that to get my cam then he must need it more than I do. Good Luck to everyone on kepping your gear safe.
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is who you actually are while your reputation is merely who others think you are.
