Late season unit 204 pics
« on: January 02, 2013, 06:08:32 PM »
OK, checked the cams this last weekend and found a couple worth posting, I wish I knew where these bucks go from mid August to November  :chuckle:. This is my first attempt at re sizing pictures and seeing of I can make it work. I will try to post a couple more as I get things organized on the computer. If I did this right the three pictures are of the same buck. I think the neighbor may have got the big buck, but the ones still hanging around are not all bad. What do you think?

Thanks DB! Here are a couple more. What do you think about the last one? Looks like he might have a mess of points on his right antler . My son keeps telling me he gets to shoot the big one next year. My daughter says she will beat him to it  :chuckle:. I just keep telling them that they disappear for hunting season so if we do not draw the late tag most likely none of us will get any of them, but it sure is fun to talk about them. Seeing these things on camera even in the dark is just plain cool  :twocents:.

The WOW deer last BW pic is the same deer as the Color pic of the Eyegaurds buck. Great 204 deer.

smdave, do you really think so? I did too at first, but the daylight buck has roughly the same length eyeguard and first point, where as the WOW buck has much shorter eye guards than points? It also appears the WOW buck has more junk at the end. Look again, I am not certain as the pictures are a bit different but it just looks to me like they are two bucks  :dunno:. I am by no means an expert of any kind just a guy with some old cams that keep working and checking them with the kids is a lot of fun.

Also looks like we have a bit more off season predator control to be done. I got several pictures last year of dogs chasing the deer through our place. This year there is certainly dogs (got at least 3 on camera) but even with the recent coyote shooting we have done there seems to be plenty more . Looks like more shooting opportunities are in our future. The boy says they will be good pratice for him  8).

Very nice Dave, yes it is two different bucks and I will take them both given the opportunity. Would much rather see the kids get them though.

Yes after looking more 2 different bucks, very similar though same genes. Great bucks for anyone. Set the kids up good.

Thanks guys. I really enjoy sharing the pictures. I get a lot of enjoyment and entertainment from this site. I kids really enjoy what I choose to share with them from it. There is a solid 2 feet of snow on the ground right now over there and I can not wait to get back over to check the cams I decided to leave up. Most of the bucks I am getting pictures of now I have not seen this year on cam making it that much more fun. Having six cameras up for 6-8 months I would have thought I would have seen more of these guys. I know some are only around because the snow is so deep further up the mountain. I hope they hang around and we can find some sheds in the coming months . Hopefully I will have more to post in a couple weeks, and maybe a few dead predators as well.

Right on! I saw a couple good 204 bucks during the late archery season but did not manage to put an arrow in one. Thanks for sharing.
