An underrated bird to hunt it seems. Congrats.

I grew up hunting huns on the Palouse when I was younger. Walking for miles through plowed fields with each boot weighing 20 lbs each. No dog, just trying to catch up with them. Back in the late 70's and early 80's it was the most plentiful upland bird there was on the farm. Starting to see more and more here in the Yakima area lately.

Agree to your statement. I have seen more Huns in the grater Yakima area and south of Wenatchee than chukar. I hear they have also started to infiltrate the to tonasket area too.

do these bird run on the ground more than they fly? I ran into a bunch of covey of birds that would run on the ground when you spooked them instead of flying away like a quail, grouse, or pheasant.  :dunno:

One of the prettiest and tastiest upland bird as far as I'm concerned. A true trophy bird, nice job.

A couple of shots of my dogs and Hungarian Partridge.  It is a great game bird, and I find a bunch of them now and again while chukar hunting.

Huns are my 2nd favorite upland bird, right behind chukars, and they are often found in the same country also, although up on top of canyons, while chukars are on the lip or generally the top 1/4.  They don't often fly straight away either, more often to either side or angling away for some reason.
