564 BattleGround Help!
«
on:
December 01, 2012, 03:20:17 PM »
I read through all the search options looking for some info on access into the public land down there. I have never hunted it or driven there so I'm going in blind.
Where can I get into the timber east of Yacolt? Or any other timber for that matter. Im just trying to square away my game plan, thinking I'm gonna make a day out of it tomorrow.
Any other info you guys want to share is greatly appreciated! Haven't seen a single deer since late season started

East of Yacolt ? Is not in the Battle Ground Unit ( 564 ). East of Yacolt is the Washougal Unit ( 568 )
Unit # 564 is approx 95% private and only a window of brush is available for public hunts.
What method of Hunt?

Archery. So 568 isn't open for archery either. All the timber east of Hickinson is Washougal?
So maybe I'm not hunting Battleground tomorrow...

Know your area you will be hunting.... GMU 564 is open to late archery for any deer any elk...
IMO , If your not familiar with this GMU 564 , you may want to rethink your hunt.
East of Hockinson is GMU 568 and only a postage stamp of public hunt GMU 564 in that area.
No late hunt Archery GMU 568 , however GMU 572-SIOUXON is open for archery late hunt / any buck
GMU 572 is east of Yacolt.

hunt the 1410 rd east of Hockinson up behind the larch correction facility, everything on the west sdie of the 1410 is battleground , they have done some cutting up ther the last few years. roads are gated so walk in only but the area holds deer...
