WA photo opportunities?
« on: September 18, 2008, 04:41:43 PM »
Wildlife viewing and photography is a real passion of mine. I am new to Washington and have found some nice viewing spots but have yet to really find something inspiring. I spend most of my time in Pend Oreille county. I grew up with hunters even though I don't hunt myself so I know they are often the best people to ask and how important my discretion is with the information I am given. Can someone share with me some trails or places I can get away from the roads and take pictures of our wonderful wildlife in a natural setting. I will stay out of the woods during your hunting season if the area is one that you use and will even let you know what I see and send pictures from my outtings in return for your help. Here are a few of my pics.

I am going to try Inland Empire Paper land. Has anyone been in there? Are there any gated roads?

The best opportunity up around there is Hall Mountain in the last part of November.  The big rams will be rutting and fighting for females.  If that's not inspiring, I don't know what is...  There are some other spots as well, however, it depends on what type of subjects you like to shoot.
