Dillon RL550 Reloading Press
« on: January 20, 2013, 03:58:34 PM »
Picked me up a used Dillon RL550 press, needs a little cleaning, some oil and a handle and a few other parts that my buddy has extras of, but for $10 I couldn't pass it up.

Nice, you might call Dillon and see how much they would want to refurbish the press.
Usually it's not mucha nd you end up with a near new press (the part you have).

That's a great pick up! I recently got an older RCBS JR2 single stage (1972) for FREE and it seems to work fine. Keep us updated on your Dillon.

I'm with Jim, for what you have in it, and what it will be worth in the end....it will be worth the cost in spades.

They did a 650 for me that was a little wore out and it came back like new for $80.
Stand up company.

I'd have broke my arm reaching for my wallet if a buddy offered a 550 for $10!   I've had a Dillon 450 for some 20 years and have loaded thousands upon thousands of rounds with it. If you're ever in Scottsdale, take a tour through the Dillon plant there. Pretty cool.

Actually about half way up the the Washougal River RD there's a store there called the Washougal River Mercantile,
I took the family sledding in the snow on Sunday and on the way back to town we stopped at the mercantile store for something to drink and in the middle of the store there was a table full of odds and ends and this press.
