Don't be fooled
« on: January 24, 2013, 07:43:54 PM »

I'm hearing time again on both liberal and conservative news outlets that his recent gun ban does not have a chance of passing. Please don't be fooled.  They only thing that will keep this useless piece of legislation off the books is writing your respective congressman and senator.  They are trying to create apathy in the gun owning public like there is nothing to worry about THERE IS!!!.  We do need better background checks but more importantly we need to fix our broken mental health system.  Crazy people will always do crazy things with or without a gun.

This isn't about Guns its about Control.

thanks,

Fishermen, hunters, woodchoppers, and others, spending their lives in the fields and woods, in a peculiar sense a part of Nature themselves, are often in a more favorable mood for observing her, in the intervals of their pursuits, than philosophers or poets even, who approach her with expectation. She is not afraid to exhibit herself to them. Henry David Thoreau

I love it when I see someone promoting people to get involved. We need to change the mentality of the public, this blame game of blaming the gun for killing innocent people is like blameing the car for drunk drivers or the spoon for fat people. The thing that scares the hell out of me is the people that voted this president into office. :)

Amen to that.

BUT...I've been writing letter after letter to my reps, senators, and congresswomen (Murray and Cantwell), and I get no response except for a blanket email response that states their goals of supporting a new gun ban in the future.

I have written back at that point stating that I don't appreciate the impersonal response that doesn't address the concerns I raised, but I get the SAME blanket response after that.

How are we supposed to make our voices heard if our letters/emails/phone calls fall on deaf ears?!   :dunno:
