colt 1903 extractor fix ?
« on: January 27, 2013, 08:30:24 PM »
im wondering if anyone has replaced the spring on a colt 1903 pocket hammerless .32. i've been thinking about replacing mine so it will eject with more reliability, but i cant find any information on how to go about it. i figured i would toss this out and see if anyone has experience with this so i dont go and do something stupid and have to pay more to have it fixed again.
thanks

Have you tried cleaning the powder residue out of the EJECTOR mechanism?  The Extractor only pulls the case out of the chamber.  The Ejector is what kicks the extracted shell out.  Old oil and powder residue can really gum up a gun's mechanicals, especially an autoloader.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

ive cleaned everything out pretty good a few times before and after i shot, but what makes me think about extractor is it wiggles back and forth very easily, and isint held in place very tightley (if that makes any sense) so i think it might not be catching the rim to extract.
