Got to go Rabbit Hunting
« on: February 14, 2013, 07:09:54 AM »
I was invited by a neighbor to go rabbit hunting with him.  It was a blast!  We had three dogs total.  One beagle was a well-trained rabbit dog, another beagle was in training, and my daughter's little daschound/terrier was out for her first time.  The trained beagle did the majority of the work, and the other two dogs each were responsible for their first rabbit.  We only hunted for 2 hours, but I was able to get 4 rabbits and he got 2.

Rabbit Stew was very good!

Nice.......Got any more pics of the hunt. That would be a lot of fun. I gotta ask.....why is your little terrier so bummed? He looks so sad?

I didn't think to take a camera.  I took the pic when I got home.  I think she was tired from hunting and mad that I wouldn't let her get the easy rabbits that were right there waiting for her to chew on!

Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

We went again and got 3 more.  We saw 15 bunnies, but they were really quick and skittish with no shots.  The three that hesitated went into the stew, and it was superb.  My 2 young daughters (11 and 15) even ate it.

This rabbit hunting thing is FUN!
