Harvester hard cast bullets

Was looking to try the 400 gr. 45 cal bullet for my 50 cal muzzleloader knight rifle. Thinking of using them on elk and deer. Was wondering your past experiences with these bullets. Mainly want them for elk because I typically use my other rifle for deer and already have a good deer load. They are a great deal to buy so makes it easier to shoot without breaking the bank.

I've got a knight disk extreme, and was considering getting a mould for some lead bullets in both 50 cal and 45 to use with sabots.  It's seems like it would be easier to get a good stockpile of ammo that way.  Those bloodlines are spendy!   I'm a roofer, so I get old lead pipe jacks occasionally, and it's a very soft lead. Over a year or so, I could get a fair amount of free lead.

You could "harden" that soft lead with zinc tire weights. Washington doesn't allow any lead in tire weights now. Nearest tire shop should have some, and hard cast lead is just a high zinc alloy.

another option for you is the Sierra .458-300 grain bullet... rather inexpensive and fly very close to the same as the Bloodline to 100 yards...

I haven't shot Harvester, but have bought a lot of hard cast (and soft) from a guy on GB that sells them with sabots for about $.30 per round shipped in plastic divider boxes.  Seller name blkpwdrsls.  Guilt free shooting and the ballistic differences vs the expensive stuff is really small inside 100 yards.
