Never too Young
« on: February 19, 2013, 09:05:54 AM »
Yesterday there was a lot of talk on here about when to start a young dog on birds and gunfire.  I am a firm believer if the pup shows the fire and drive start them. (introduce them) as soon as possible.   Here is my case in point (no pun intended).
These pictures are from this past Saturday.  Meet ESA who is 14 weeks old..
ENJOY!!!!

nice!  do you guys use cotornix quails only for pups? or for adults too?  mine aren't very good flyers. I just use them for introducing pups to birds.

I use them mainly for the pups,  but with that being said I will throw out  a half dozen of them just to mess with the broke dogs who have to remain steady to wing and shot.   When I train I will throw out everything,  Pheasants, Chukar, Quail and pigeons.  Because just like hunting you never know what your flushing up next,

Man those are some great pictures of a great looking pup. I really like that first one, but the last one that seems to be mostly ears is pretty cool as well.
