Scent on trail cams

What do you guys do as far as covering your scents on your cams? I'm new to this and went and checked my cam after its first soak.  I thought I would have a ton of pics because I kicked about 12 deer and 2 cows within 70 yards of where it was set up. I do have a salt lick that it was aimed at but only got 2 pictures of a doe that appeared to be smelling it and didn't want anything to do with it. It got me thinking that my scent was either on my camera or the salt lick that I carried in my pack was the reason they didn't touch it. Any tips or tricks that you guys use or am I just being to eager?

It's not your scent. Give it some time. They'll come. Maybe a little more incentive than salt... but just be patient

I've never noticed scent on a camera being a problem for deer.  I've been curious about bear though...had many cameras knocked down by bear, not sure if it was scent or noise that they didnt like though.  If you're convinced its scent then you could try some of the scent killer field wipes. i think a bunch of people make them.

I' ve never taken scent precautions...just handle them like normal. Bears will get curious and bite them....I've had deer sniff them and check them out...never seem to be bothered.
