North Dakota Elk, Moose, Sheep
« on: March 25, 2013, 09:17:31 PM »
Not sure if there are too many of you guys over there that are interested in applying, but wanted to let any of you know that apps are due the 28th.

One great thing about drawing an elk tag here................ 17 weeks of hunting !!!!!!!  That is if you can shoot a bow...... and then when modern season begins you can stick with sticks, or switch to lead.

What town do you live in? I thought only residents could apply for those tags

"Nonresidents may participate in the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation/Game Warden Museum elk license raffle. Contact the nearest game warden for raffle tickets"

•Nonresident Bighorn Sheep License, $500.
•See details below: One bighorn lottery license may be issued annually to a nonresident drawn in the regular lottery. Application fee is $100, nonrefundable.
Bighorn sheep auction License. One bighorn license is auctioned in March by the Minnesota-Wisconsin Chapter of the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep. North Dakota residents and nonresidents are eligible to purchase this license. Proceeds fund bighorn sheep research in North Dakota.

One thing to remember is students count as residents in North Dakota.  Saved me a ton of money on my hunting while I was going to school out there.

Walhalla is the NE corner a few miles from the Canadian border. It was the Moose capital of ND now almost all the Moose are gone :bash: No tags there anymore. My uncle is part owner of the JD implement dealer it's the only job he has ever had for 60 years now and my Aunt is a retired school teacher there. I don't think there's a farm around there I couldn't hunt on. I would like to bring the boys back and do a spring snow goose hunt some Year.

If your looking for moose you want to focus more in the Hope, Page, and Fordville areas.  Ran into moose every year we deer hunted.  Sometimes A LOT closer than I ever wanted to be!
