Polymer AR-15 lowers?

Are they really as bad as people make them out to be? I wanna start a build in .450 bushmaster for deer hunting in Indiana. Any actual experience, and yes i know it's plastic, but i would like to hear any personal experience?

Tagging so I can lean as well, but why would you want a polymer lower.  The lower is not where the weight is anyhow so it is not going to make it much lighter?

My nephew has a plum crazy poly lower. It's a 556 gun and he has shot hundreds of rounds with out any problems. I look at it like a glock, not a big fan of plastic guns, but if they go bang I guess that's all ya need.

Because i'm a cheapo. I can build a .223 with a polymer lower and a decent upper for under $500, but i wanna know if it's worth it.

A buddy built a lightweight AR using plum crazy and the thing is great.  No problems at all.  He was skeptical at first, but no reason to be now.

My friend has one and he doesn’t have any complaints. Buy one and if it sucks, replace it later.

I bought a bunch of Plum Crazy lowers a few years ago.  At the time they were under $100 per complete lower...stock and all, just pin on an upper an shoot it.   Sold all but three right after the first "O" election, (wish I'd kept more to sell this go around!). 

They all fit tight on all my uppers and I've never had any problems.  The only issue I've had was when you upgrade the triggers, you have to pick and choose which one you use as some won't work in a poly lower.

I use one all the time on my lightweight calling rifle.

From what I heard, Midway has a kit with everything you need to build an AR, EXCEPT the stripped lower, for about $500.
So you could build a working AR, and still be under the $800 mark....

Ive read that new frontier makes the ones Palmetto sells. Ive had a bunch of them, but never put one together. The shop I ship them to says a customer has one on a 300 blackout with no problems.

Have you guys seen the new frontier video? I wouldnt do this to a metal one!
