Ruger American
« on: April 25, 2013, 08:24:36 PM »
Picked up a new American today in a 7mm-08 for the Grand Daughter who thinks she wants to hunt this fall. Took it to the range today and first 3 shots were .52". Cleaned it and ran another 3 rounds with nearly the same results. I have a 7-08 in a CDL that's a bit heavy for her and I wish it shot this well.
For those looking for a low budget rifle ($340) I wouldn't shy away from the Ruger American. Trigger isn't great but not bad, she will never know the difference.

Oh I would have to agree about the Tikka. Better fit and finish and seems to be more solid rifle BUT for $340 and close to 1/2 MOA I'm happy. Aren't Tikka"s pushing 600?

I am going to pick up the same rifle you just got for sure. Just another truck gun but they shoot great.

You can get the plain blued tikka's for about 525.00.
