CVA Buckhorn
« on: May 10, 2013, 11:47:29 AM »
I drew multiseason deer and elk this year and needed a muzzleloader. I just purchased a CVA Buckhorn Magnum 209 online. I also got the percussion cap breach plug. Is there anything else I need to make it legal? I am also looking for load recommendations. Thanks in advance for the advice.

There's more than one way to skin a cat, but that cat won't like any of them...

Or powerbelt, 295 copper HP with 90 grns pyrodex powder.

pellets don't burn as clean  :twocents:

I've killed 2 bucks and a bear with this setup.

Another option is the 348 copper HP with 100-120 grains, that penetrates very well.

150 grains of powder will kick like a mule and not fly straight  :twocents:

The aerotip bullets are too fragile in my opinion.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
