Father and daughter double

What was a nice morning of turkey hunting turned out to be a hunt that we will never forget. My daughter and I new their were a group of Jake's hanging around on the private property next to us so we decided to set up with the ground blind on the edge of a winter wheat and a wheat stubble field, not sure of knowing were they were roosting at. Around 4:30am we heard a gobble behind us about 150 yards away I tolled her I know what group of trees he's so I tolled her we need to grab our guns and the decoy and cut the distance shorter because he's on the other side of the river. We grabbed our stuff and started sneaking along the wheat stubble and he lit off again and then another one gobbled, she said dad there's two so we picked a spot of bushes and set up the decoy. I started calling and they both lit off! I'm looking through the bushes at the group trees and seen him fly down on are side along the stubble field, I gave out a call and he gobbled again and he was getting closer, I Tolled her to get ready and he gobbled again but he was about 30 yards and couldn't see him. I gave a soft cluck and he was about 10 yards and back dooring on us so we turned around I said you ready she said ya I looked and seen his white head, you see him , no she says the bushes are to high then he started to alarm putt I asked her are you on him! No! the tom started to go to the left and before I couldn't see him anymore I pulled the trigger down goes the tom. I looked at my daughter and seen a tear in her eye I felt bad shooting her bird, I tolled her that I had to take him or he was long gone she said I know, I started to go pick up the bird and "Gobble Gobble Gobble" the other one was on the other side of the river I gave out an aggressive cluck and he lit off! I tolled her to get ready because he might fly across I called again and he gobbled but this time he was in the stubble field, my daughter says I see him he's strutting and now he's running at us, I said get ready this is it! he stopped out about 25 yards to are right and gobbled I gave out a soft purr and here he comes again I could hear my daughters heart beat and I said just breath you'll be fine and all of the sudden he gobbles with in 15 feet of us on the other side of the thick bunch of bushes going back door on us again, I tolled her we need to turn around but really slow! soon as we turned around he was next to the bird that I shot and started to alarm putt, I'm thinking here we go again, I tolled her soon as you see his head shoot him "BOOM" down goes the thunder chicken! we were high fiving and I gave her a big hug a tolled her I knew you could do it! A great hunt that I will never forget.
