Lost in clamming info

Not sure if this is the right spot or not, but....

So I have monday off, no school and no work!  That almost never happens.

Anyways, I wanted to get out and do some coyote hunting, but jeep is down, so figured I wanna give clamming a shot. I've started looking online for seasons or calenders or something, but there is so much information. So much conflicting and out of date info too. Even on WDFW's website. I don't even know where to start...

every time I've gone out it's been tagging along with a buddy, I've never had to plan it and I am pretty green. Anybody have any recommendations on where to get info? And any tips? I am looking at somewhere in the tacoma area, maybe Joemma beach?

go to wdfw web. go to fish then look for razor clam dates. Should be right of middle page.

There aren't any minus tides for clamming on Monday.

Just to clarify, you're not talking about razor clams correct.?

I was not specifically no. If I'm not mistake, that does not start until the 26th, correct?

And like I said, I am pretty new to all this freshwater stuff, but if I am not mistaken this shows that monday has a low tide at 1:30pm on joemma beach. Feel free to correct me if I am reading this wrong...

Never been clamming at JoeEmma but the tides don't become favorable for shellfish harvest til about mid week on the beaches that I go to.I need +2.5' or lower to dig manila/butterclams and shuck oysters.This month doesn't have very good tides during daylight hours.The best digs are on seasonal beaches such as up on the Hoodcanal.They open up during different times but the best are open only for 6 months.Shine/Wolf are now open and will close mid may.I know its a bit of a drive from where you are but if you get up a group it would be worth it.I usually am done in less than 1 hour with manila clams and oysters on -tides.Super minus tides there are cockles/horse clams galore,too.Read the beach discriptions to get an idea what shellfish is available as well as driving directions.GL
