A few pics of my opener
« on: October 17, 2008, 07:10:01 AM »
Took some time off and hunted deer with the smokepole but never got off a shot. Passed on a couple that didn't feel right and saw lots of doe but most all of them were muleys.

But I done a lot better when goose /ducks opened hunting with a couple of my buds. Got something I hadn't seen in all the years I've been hunting this area we had 4 specks come in and got them all but even yesterday I got a report that snows had also been seen.

Mike - M.D. Johnson here. Yes, sir...still in Iowa! You getting younger, or is that pup getting older? Looks like life's treating you well over in The Hills -

Sadly, Julia Carol and I are without our Maggie for this first Fall this year, as she passed on 5 May '08 at the age of 14. Still chasing stuff, albeit slowly, right to the very end. First time through the ordeal, and I still can't believe she's gone, especially at this time of year. Jet (10), and her son, Deacon (6), helped greatly -

Congrats on the specks. Been hearing/seeing quite a few being taken on both sides of the mountains this year. You gonna chase Fall turkeys?

Keep us posted, eh - M.D. Johnson, aka The Deacon
