I scouted out a new area yesterday and after 22 miles this is all I could come up with.

4X4 2X3 3X4

3X3 This buck was to far for my Leica 1200 to range, so he was a ways out there.

Here is a close up of the same buck. I never could get any pics with it facing me except one. Which did not turn out that great.

Sky line buck. Never could see any more then this.

Thanks Michael, but its not as bad as you would think. Hike a few miles, glass, repeat over and over again and the miles just fly by.

A little side story.
The first year I was looking for an area to hunt the high hunt I started scouting in the Pasayten. So my best friend, my cousin and I headed into Remmel Lake. (sp) My best friend and I were 21 and my cousin was 14. My cousin hiked in basketball shoes while we hiked in trail runners. We left the truck  at 5:00am and got back at 8:00pm. I don't know if any of you are familiar with that trail but it is 17 miles one way to the lake.

After hiking in trees for 17 miles we took a 2 hour break for swimming and eating lunch and then headed back to the truck. I don't know to many 14 year olds that can say that they have hiked 34 miles in a day but he can. The worst thing about the hike is that you couldn't really see anything the whole hike because of the trees. We did see a bull moose though which was really cool. After that hike I have never been back to the Pasayten. Branden

I went a different route... Im down here in Lacey and I found a 2 acre alfalfa patch 500 meters from a HWY on the outskirts of a small city. Well, 5 nights in a row I sat and watched 5-6  4x4's  feeding... oh and a monster with kickers stickers and MASS.....the patch is legally huntable.... but not one landowner in 10+ door knocks will let me any where near it for bow season...

I guess it wouldnt be any fun to bow kill a monster BT and then drive my Xterra 1/4 mile to pack him up huh...

oh well...   back to crawling public land with herds of the masses all drueling over the same 100 inch 3x2.
