My wife and I went to check the cam after a two week soak. When we arrived we notice my cam was facing the opposite direction of where we aimed it. The lick we put down was gone after the two week soak, and we found clumps of hair all over the area so we thought bear. After reviewing the photos we found that the batteries had died after only two days. So we did not get to see what had attacked the cam. But based on the pics we did get it was obvious the elk were fascinated with the cam so most likely it was an elk attack. We installed new batteries and put down a new lick. We went back a day later to adjust the aim of the cam as we notice a lot of glare on the pics we got during the previous soak. We found the new lick all but gone, and in less than a 24 hour period. The elk in the area of our trail cam seem to have some sort of skin issue. We have seen plenty of elk in the surrounding area that look great but these are pretty rough looking.
