Tulalip Bubble
« on: May 23, 2013, 11:46:43 AM »
Anyone fish this area regularly?   I gave up on this place several years ago because it sucked.  Has it gotten any better?  I see they are allowing 2 poles this year, maybe that will help.

"Anglers may fish with two poles with Two-Pole Endorsement."

Only if they open it earlier. The kings that return are an early returning fish. The last few years they didn't open it until all the fish were gone! I have caught a couple there over the years and few early humpies, that's it.

That's probably because you didn't try hard enough! Or you were off chasing bears instead of fishing!    :chuckle:

A guy can't win can he? I've only given the bubble a few shots...never game it much serious effort. I've heard that the folks that have it dialed in usual pull a few fish. I do not have it dialed even close.

I have not had a problem catching fish in the Bubble. I think the main thing here is to fish certain spots during certain parts of the tide. I always have one rigger set up high between 40ft and 60ft and the other 90ft or deeper. 9 out of 10 times the shallow rod gets hit. These fish suspend and you don't have to go deep to get em.

Just funnin with you H20, it's not an easy fishery. I usually hit fish at 65 feet down in 90-120 feet of water on the incoming tide.

This morning’s opener was slow.  Dead is a better word.  Not a single bump on my boat and I didn’t see any fish caught on any other boats.  Even the Tulalips’ nets were empty when I saw them pull them.

Anyone out lately? I'm thinking a trip out is needed since it is a short run for me. I can of course look it up but how long is it open?
