hmmmmm, maybe you could put him in a coat of armor. Then attach treble hooks to him so he can run around like bait.  :twocents:

Here is what I would do ....  Put your dog out in the yard staked to a leash ...Then I would sit in the house with  the gun in the window and when he comes out to get the dog boooom ! Maybe use a shotgun and shoot before he gets near the dog  :twocents: You may have to be quick because the yote could snatch him up real quick like ....

My suggestion would be a pup distress call on an ecaller

There were a bunch of the noisy buggers trying to lure my Brittney into the wood night before last. You can get pretty close to them in the dark where you can't see them..... Sounded like a hundred of em.

Lou is a really cute dog.  Hope you kill the damn coyotes. :hunter:   :mgun2: :hunt2: :bfg:

I like the idea of using a cat for bait.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

I have been baiting every weekend since posting this thread but no luck so far other than attracting a large family of raccoons onto my property.  I have several trail cams out and it looks like this yote has completely vanished from my land.  I'm scared that he will return when we least suspect it and let our guard down.  My plan now is to stop baiting and keep checking the trail cams until he comes back.

Was your dog barking and carrying on when the yote showed up? If so what about trying to record your dogs barking to an e caller and maybe some sort of decoy, like a large cut out pic of the dog :dunno:?? Sounds better to me than using him as live bait. I have a little guy like that also, no way I could use him as bait.
