Member also. Been to the HQ.  If you get a chance you should stop by and  see the animals. Very impressive.  Bonus, if you renew your membership there we have gotten knives the last 5 years.

I haven't been to the Missoula HQ, but I was at the original HQ of the trailer house in Troy, MT.  My family is originally from that area, and I still have a cabin in Troy, so we were there quite a bit when I was growing up.  Somewhere I've got the full collection of my Dad's Bugle magazines from issue number 1 until he passed in 2001.  Now that I think of it, I'll have to inventory the few I have and start buying the rest on Ebay to make a complete set.  That'd be a wealth of information and history to pass on to the next generation of elk hunters.

I've been a member for about 14 years; have not been to the HQ.  Why do you ask about visiting the HQ?

If someone is reading this and is not a member, check out the RMEF at http://www.rmef.org/home.  Money spent on dues and at fund raisers is well spent.  The RMEF's mission is habitat conservation for elk; mostly winter range habitat.  They have been innovative in maximizing the value of our dollars by partnering with various groups and individuals to protect the land elk require to survive.

Thanks guys, I guess I am just so passionate about the foundation. I have no family and no kids so my money goes to them when I am done. My wife is also very invested and I guess I just believe so much in the REMF and what they have done for ELK. This includes such small interventions such as Sequim Wa and a small herd that needed help. I asked for member info because I am new here and was just curious to know because this board sounds so invested in hunting I wanted to know if this is a place where I should be. As for asking about if those of you have visited the HQ in Missoula, I guess if you have visited you understand, if you have not you are missing out on a great educational experience.  The facility is really cool and staff are really helpful in your questions. The confrence center is there and often major meeting are occuring. The theater is nice also. I was member for many years before I seen HQ so I was just trying to get a feeling on who was on this site/board. Thanks
